If you are in the market for a new pair of headphones, but you don’t like the idea of spending too much, then you’d be happy to know that you have a brand to turn to – Coloud headphones. The brand has been known to combine durability, wearability and quality of sound without the steep price point.
Coloud has come out with three new headphone models that should fit your needs – Knock, Boom and Pop. These new headphones may look simple, but they were built with an idea toΒ eliminate components that we don’t really need for that nice, comfortable listening experience. Read on for my review of each of these headphones and watch out for an upcoming giveaway! π
Coloud Boom
For my listening pleasures, I prefer headphones with cans that cover my ears just enough to let no outside noise to distract me. This is mainly the reason why, out of the 3 that were sent to me for review, I love Coloud Boom headphones.
The headband itself, at first glance, might not be too durable or sturdy. However, after using it a couple of times, and knowing how clumsy and chaotic I can get π , it looks like Coloud Boom can withstand my usage.
It’s pretty lightweight and the soft cushioned, leather-covered cans made it comfortable to wear on my head. I watched 2 episodes of The Good Wife with them, and my ears didn’t hurt a bit. The cable also comes out of just one of the cans, so this makes it easier to wear.
The quality of sound was what really surprised me. Considering the price of this pair of headphones, you’d think they’ll provide you with just decent enough sound quality. But, no. The bass was deep and really makes an impact – that extra Boom, as it was befittingly named. The sound is clear and crisp. Needless to say, my bro and I were very happy about it. π
Price: Php 1,850.00
Specifications:
- Driver 40mm dynamic
- Sensitivity 100mV @ 1kHz = 101dB SPL
- Impedance 32 ohm
- Frequency Range 20.0 ~ 20.0 kHz
- Weight 132 g / 4.65 oz
Coloud Knock Headphones
I confuse Coloud The Knock headphones with The Boom because they look almost the same. The differences lie on the headband itself and the can covers.
The Knock has quite a rigid headband that you can adjust, much like The Boom. When it comes to comfort, I didn’t expect this pair of headphones to sit better on my head. I guess it’s because the cans and the headband itself seem to follow the shape of my head better than Coloud’s Boom headphones.
If Boom was lightweight, this one is ultra, mega lightweight. π But, don’t mistake this to be of cheap quality ’cause it’s not.
The sound? Another surprise. They have almost the same quality of sound as The Boom, but since the cans don’t cover your ear completely, you can still hear some outside noise while listening to music or videos. Perfect when you’re trying to pretend to be busy π OR when you’re commuting.
Price: Php 1,450.00
Specifications:
- Driver 40mm dynamic
- Sensitivity 100mV @ 1kHz = 85dB SPL
- Impedance 32 ohm
- Frequency Range 20.0 ~ 20.0 kHz
- Weight 78 g / 2.75 oz
Coloud Pop Earphones
First of all, I’m not a fan of in-ear headphones ’cause I’m a bit OC when it comes to other people’s DNA mixing with mine without my consent. π With that said though, this gives me an excuse to not lend my headphones to just anybody. π
Anyway, these Coloud Pop headphones are ergonomically designed to fit your ears. Even when I used the right earphone on my left ear, the angled earbuds didn’t hurt my ear. The box comes with 2 more size options for the ear caps in case you have smaller or bigger ears.
Since this is an in-ear headphone, expectedly, you can get lost in your own world. No distractions from outside noise.
My major problem with Coloud Pop is the quality of sound. You have to make adjustments with your audio settings to get the quality you want. Otherwise, you’ll get audio that sounds like it’s coming out of a tin can – like a Pringles can, to be specific. If you can work around that, this is a decent pair of earphones for its price tag.
Price: Php 950.00
Specifications:
- Driver 9mm dynamic
- Sensitivity n/a
- Impedance 32 ohm
- Frequency Range 20.0 ~ 20.0 kHz
- Weight 16g / 0.56 oz
Common Features of Coloud Boom, Knock and Pop Headphones
These Coloud headphones come with a microphone and 3-Click Remote. So, you can use them, not just for listening to music or watching videos, but also for answering calls or recording your voice. I’ve tried all these features on all these headphones and I can say that the mic and remote work pretty well. π
Here are the functions of the 3-Click Remote for your information:
- 1 click: Play, pause audio/video or answer and hang up a call.
- 2 clicks: Next or Forward functions
- 3 clicks: Rewind or replay
These headphones also have flat cables that has been a popular preference because of its tangle-free qualities.
They also have Coloud’s signature Zound Lasso that you can use when the headphones are not in use. Simply wrap the cable around the Zound Lasso, bend the connector and plug it in the hole at the end. Don’t worry since this technology was designed to make sure there won’t be any problems with the connection point itself. I tried using the Zound Lasso like I’m in a hurry packing and below, on the right, is the best that I got π
The ONLY downside I can think of about the cable is they’re too short for me. I guess this is mainly designed for mobile listening like on laptops or smartphones. But, since I’m mostly using this for traveling, it’s all good. π
Coloud Boom, Knock and Pop headphones come in various color blocks to suit your needs. Since I prefer dark colors, especially gray and black, I’m pretty happy with what I got.
If you’re looking for affordable, durable headphones that provide pretty decent sound quality, these Coloud headphones are a must-try. Perfect gifts for the upcoming holidays, don’t you think? π
Watch out for my upcoming giveaway where I’ll be raffling off Coloud Knock and Pop headphones, courtesy of Digits Trading.

Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wished to say that I have truly enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case Iβll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again very soon!
I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. Itβs pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
I was reading through some of your posts on this website and I think this website is very informative ! Keep putting up.
Where did you bought your Coloud? Before, I’m using a Sony headphones that is included in a package that I avail last year at sony cellphone shop at robinsons galleria. But now, I am using my Coloud Knock Blocks that I bought a year ago. Mas nagustuhan ko ung tunog ng coloud knock blocks kasi ramdam mo sa tenga mo ung bass tapos hindi lang puro bass malakas din ung mismong music. saka lightweight sya kaya mas ok din lalo na’t babae ako.
Hello Pinay Reviewer,
I have a pair of Pops. In my opinion, they sound really well and again, in my opinion, no, it is not ergonomically designed to either side of your ears. Perhaps that’s why you find the quality kinda canny for you didn’t use it properly. I find it really well built and the audio quality is superb and even in par with my Beats IEM that I own in the past.
Hmmm… I wonder, how hard is it really to use a pair of earphones? π
And yes, that’s your opinion. Thanks for sharing. I had a different experience with it. π
I agree with GudNyte,
The in-ears of coloud are slightly less sensitive (can be fixed by upping a volume a ‘lil bit) but the response is quite flat (freq response not being so biased on a certain range). π
Ergonomically, the coloud ins’t that good, although it can be fixed by changing a softer earbud silicone replacement.
The bass performance is what i’m after and the coloud performed Very well for its price by delivering deeper bass without being mushy. The heavy beats did not drown the mids and highs are still defined though not stellar (reminds me that this isn’t a 3k in-ears with a pre-amp).
The best way to roughly test an earphone without using freq response equipment is by listening to a song with a challenging audio like Fancy – by Iggy Azalea (Spotify Free account quality). Make sure your audio player has its equalizer turned off or flattened. Play the song for the first 15 seconds of the song and listen carefully. Then skip to 1:04 part where bass, mid and some highs converge. Observe the bass reproduction and the fullness of mid (voice) and the presence of the highs (husky part of the voice in 1:22 and the kssh beat).
Feel free to try it on an HTC with Beats enhancement turned on to have a flat output from the phone or use a PC or an apple device. e.g. iPhone4s
I used ipad air @75% volume. It got really really loud.
I would say Coloud POP’s quality could be mistakenly considered as a 2k in-ear for its performance and its added features (anti tangle and the lasso thingy).
P.S. I am not a fan of Iggy Azalea. Seems like it is one of the songs that can demonstrate the response of the in-ears. π

I own many in-ear earphones and i’ve compared expensive and cheap ones.

Hi,
May video ka na bang nahanap on how to wrap the Coloud Pop PROPERLY? (i’m not shouting :D)
so far ang favorite song ko na maganda for Coloud Popis Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. π
About how to wrap it properly, wala pa ko nakitang video eh and I wasn’t able to do it PROPERLY din hahah. Pero di naman sya mahirap itago. I suggest lagay mo na lang sa pocket ng bag para di ka mag-isip. π
I really only got to play around with the Knock and Boom sa remote, the Pop, di ko natest lahat ng functions nya. Okay naman sakin.
Hi, gumagana po ba ung microphone ng Pop sa S3? Papaano po? Salamat!
regarding about the 3-click remote, how do you hang up a call when it’s the same number of click with answer the call?
I want to have the Coloud Pop since it’s cheaper than the rest and I don’t like over-the-head headphones but because of your review I had to change my mind and pick Boom because of the sound quality. Thanks for adding that up in your review.
Kaylangan ko munang mag-ipon (I guess it’ll take 6 months) para maka bili ng Coloud Boom lol
Hi, Earl. When you click on the remote again while on a call or while it’s still ringing, it’ll hang up.
Yeah, Boom or Knock. Knock is a few hundreds cheaper and has the same sound quality actually. π Magandang investment. Sobrang gamit na gamit ko ‘tong pair of headphones, especially for Skype calls. π
pwdeng malaman kung anung phone or music player ang ginamit mo??
I used my S3 and tried this on my desktop as well.
How about the microphone? Coloud Pop seems not compatible with my S3, any ideas?
maganda yung the boom kase malakas tlaga yung bass at crisp na tunog.. very nice review…
hindi nagwowork sa akin ung 3-click remote sa BB ko . is it just mine or ayaw lang talaga gumana sa BB ? Thanks .
